i hope this letter finds you doing well. i want you to know that i miss you. i’ve been working on a project called 1. l.a. player. it’s been a transformative experience. over this time, i’ve had think about, write papers on, and share my thoughts about our relationship in two countries, ten cities, four states, and even in a few radio interviews. during this process, i’ve had to confront the stains on my moral character; no more 2. running from them. i am better because of it. i think you’d be proud of me because, like you always told me to, i’ve also thought about the nature of the messages in my music. who would have thought my music would get the kind of attention that its been getting (i guess me and the team have been sending 3. lowkey vibes to the people ::-p). but this added attention has honestly added questions. will they realize that the stories contained in my music is where my philosophy of love came from? will my efforts to teach them through my stories be lost because of its packaging? you know, before i released the project, i played 4. phone s-x for a friend of mine… she asked me to turn it off before the first verse began to play! i think she was offended even though the song’s intent is empowerment. i now understand that articulating how 5. l-st can empower sends people’s moral pallets in to a frenzy. my approach needs more,… i digress. even though 6. we just talk every now and then, i think that it would be cool for us to get together sometime and catch up. i mean, i think that there is a lot that we can still teach and learn from one another. we’ve both become different people since we’ve left the 7. streets of l.a.. i hope my own evolution is apparent with every word you read in this 8. love letter. but if not, 9. it’s cool, 10. play on playa
