tallying these beasts is such a feat it’s actually keeping me from dreaming

and what happens when i’ve counted? am i finally allowed to slumber?
my heart rate’s up, i’m sweating, i have so many questions
why they making us process these sheep? what’s the true purpose of this endeavour?
just seems shady – thinking maybe something deeper’s at play here
must be a reason they’re needing us to conduct a census on these creatures
how many generations? and nations? maybe corporations?
manipulating our children’s minds? the ramifications are dreadful!
just stay out our heads! all of us: we’re the real sheep!
they’re stealing our thoughts as we sleep!
