i am so happy you could all be here tonight
as i pay tribute to a man who meant so much to me
and to all of us
i was very fortunate to have known stephen sondheim–
or, as i graduated to calling him, steve—
for over forty years
and tonight, you’re going to hear songs and stories
from some of my experiences working with him
as well as some songs of his i just happen to love
