like a complete moon beaming in the dead of night
or splashing watercolors and pastels heralding dawn’s first light
mother’s love a sight surpassing when fireworks ignite
explosions exceeding and lingering beautiful and bright
as supernovas flooding and drifting in all potential directions;
birthing new worlds of possibilities, blazing stars at heart reflections
of solar systems and human anatomy, all atoms inextricable
as objects and shadows inseparable, links always applicable
ancients say apples fall not far from trees, yet i prefer saying
the mother lives on inside her children, so as not to be betraying
but repaying the cycle beginning with their conception, safely staying
warm like beavers in dams, or kangaroos in pouches baying;
your faithful child carries on legacies you diligently produced
our interstellar ethereal connections evolving never diminished nor reduced
