i went to the race track and i won 3 hundred dollars on a horse
who was actually a giant red wasp
i spoke to the wasp after the race, after all the spectators had left
and i saw that she was crying
i dried the tears that fell from her eyes with a wool blanket
and i asked her why she was so sad
she turned her head
and explained the following:
“i am tired of running sir
i am tired of flying also
i would love to just do nothing
except sit as still as an iron statue.”
well, i could not agree with
this lovely wasp
for the beauty of an insect
rests in it’s movement
it’s flight
and the way it fades
into the tall grass
