i spend my life slavin away

i never disobey what my teachers say
i do all i can to get good grades
on weekends weekdays and even holidays
but it’ll be worth it in the long run is what they say
going to school is the gateway
to success and gettin a job that pays
after attending college of course like a sort of right away
but anyways what i’m tryna say
that school is full of sh-t like what the hay
i’m stricken with strife when i gotta write another essay
it saps the life outta me and puts me in disarray
on my good vibes it casts a cloud that’s all dark gray
it’s straight up annoying i ain’t even gonna play
sometimes its like it’s not even worth it, it’s just a pain
more and more homework is what’s in store
i’ve had a test every day since i was a soph0m-re
therefore they’ve been impossible to ignore
studying consumes my life like a soldier in war
i implore you to believe me this isn’t a folk lore
i got hours of homework by the time i walk out the door
of my school that is a total eyesore
cuz every time i think of school i know i’m done for
from all the homework i get
from all the irk and the fret
and the crook in my neck
that comes with this train wreck
that is school
and i’m not a fool
so i can see how this treatment is just cruel
like what the f-ck do they except from us
we’re not machines that take a school bus
and while i’m not tryna throw a fuss
all the sh-t we do is obviously superfluous
teachers give homework and tests like charity
as i’m breathlessly tryna avoid penalty
technically i could but then dejectedly
i’d receive a bad score inevitably
hopefully i avoid the tragedy
like if i wasn’t accepted to a university
i worry about this endlessly
and thus can never live my life stress free
the educational system that is in place
pits everyone against each other in a race
cut throat compet-tion is commonplace
and if you fail to keep pace then you’re a disgrace
but what really is the bullsh-t
the thing you can tell has common sense missing
is how we are all racing
to learn some bullsh-t that doesn’t even have real life meaning
like why the f-ck am i doin biology
or sociology or physiology
or helplessly stressing over chemistry
when i’m just tryna go into dentistry
well i mean not really but hypothetically
i’m just sayin i’m wastin my time academically
i could be using my time way more productively
like practicing to be a tight emcee
but no i don’t got time to rap
instead i gotta learn all this cr-p
that drains my brain and makes me wanna take a nap
i feel like i’ve been duped and become a sap
teachers be like look at a map and study what you see
cuz you aboutta get a test on geography
and on the capital of papua new guinea
aka sh-t i’ll never need
so with all these examples what i’m tryna get at
is our educational system is total cr-p
it’s all messed up and handicapped
it’s all just one big mishap
if school was a channel you know id change it
i would immediately estrange it
but if i was in charge i’d rearrange it
switch it up and interchange it
i’d make it more conducive to success for everyone
not just the nerds that don’t care about fun
and while i do admit to bein one
im tired of this bullsh-t im f-ckin done
thank god that i only got a few more months left
to me school is just a pest
all it’s done for me is just oppressed
soon enough i’ll be able to be unstressed
but then i f-ckin have to go to college
continue the cycle of gaining knowledge
and while this is important i acknowledge
i feel like going to school is just a bondage
school keeps me a hostage
and contributes to my exhaustion
i need to get away maybe to a cottage
somewhere i can escape intellectual rottage
[up in the mountains where no ones around
where i’d be surrounded by no schools and could just hunker down
i could seek nirvana until it is found
and then rebound to civilization with my frown upside down]
cuz i just need a break from my cl-sses
like chemistry where we just learn about g-sses
or when we weigh sh-t to find their m-sses
dumb sh-t i gotta do just to p-ss it
school should be the place that readies you
for whatever it is in life you wanna do
whether it be engineering or innovating or simply trimming hair-dos
school is fosho good but has its issues
it needs more emphasis on having students choose
what academic things they wanna pursue
but i dunno that’s just my view
