who are closer to being hicks than gangster pr-cks
who can rap about more than guns, drugs, and chicks
this is for everyone who’s sick of every song being lyrically the same
i guess girls, guns, and drugs is all you need for fame
so rap about throwing bullets through your enemies’ brain
i guess that’s just how you do it when you’re part of a gang
gangsta rap made me do it or maybe drugs are to blame
but you know that’s just an excuse to do more of the same
i don’t know about you, but in my opinion that’s lame
so i’ll be bringing some originality into this game

here’s my list for the top ten best lyricists
forget about two through ten, but i’m the greatest
i don’t mean to be hating, but i have to be honest
there’s no lyrical compet-tion in the average rap artist
they’re only compet-tive when it comes to rapping fastest
they have to rap fast, so their pathetic lyrics aren’t noticed
fill this room with rappers and i’ll probably be the smartest
come to the room yourself and you’ll be in the presence
of some of the stupidest people in all existence
i’m not really egotistical though, so i’m not being serious
i’m just sick of all these other rappers and i’ve ran out of patience
with all of these weak verses i keep hearing from my opponents
my point is almost every other rappers’ lyrics lack substance
so when you hear someone actually construct a decent sentence
like nas for instance, you consider it brilliance

when it comes to lyrics, it shouldn’t be hard to have the best
in fact, it really shouldn’t even be much of a contest
as for all these whack verses i keep hearing, i suggest
all you rappers find new ghost writers to write the rest
a lot of you are limited to four letter words, but i’m blessed
to know enough words for my thoughts to be properly expressed
but i’m really just your average white guy from the midwest
so when you listen to this, you shouldn’t be too impressed
but you are impressed. it’s only cause you’re not used to this though
i can actually write a verse, unlike the other rappers that you know
people know them, because they don’t need sk!ll for play on the radio
i’m still young, but i could out write most rappers ten years ago
no one must be teaching the kids to write in the ghetto
you don’t need good lyrics to get singed anyway though
how you say it is what matters, it’s not what you say, so
they may as well forget the lyrics and just work on the flow
