“peter johnson.”
“peter johnson you want to be saved tonight?
you want to see the power of jesus?
you want to be filled with the holy ghost?
you want to see the lord bless your life abundantly, in great measure?”
“yes lord!”
“be filled with the holy ghost amen!”
as soon as he shouted amen, and he so shouted such a loud, scream on the amen! that the congregation was in absolute shock, paralyzed in such high expectations that a miracle would happen. they had seen it before. the holy movement was gaining popularity rapidly. the believers all witnessed great miraculous healings, signs of wonder of god’s provision. they were not only expecting a miracle to happen. they knew it worked. it wasn’t the first time. they acted surprised to see the change before the person being prayed for noticed themselves. this approach had gotten so many interesting results. it’s almost as if the action caused a reaction
a positive placebo effect they believed. the person with the problem would feel as if the ones perceiving them had legitimately noticed a change, and that the brain would subconsciously transform the body miraculously because of the highest conscious totality. a concept that in its theory states that higher counsiousness levels would prevail in the formation of reality
that was christian science. clark wanted to show the university of the superiore and all the people he came in contact with the opportunity of being healed through christian science. he truly believed it worked. the data he gathered, -sserted the very high probability that christian science was not only the cheapest treatment method, it was the best one
“hallelujah! amen! wow! thank the lord right now son. you’ve been delivered your life has been delivered peter johnson, your life has been changed, your life has been transformed. how do you feel?”
asked pastor mark the leading authority in christian science during its early years. this was in front of an audience full of people which they reffered to as the congreagation
“i’m so grateful right now lord. my life is changed, a great burden has been lifted off my shoulders!” peter johnson was a farmer in m-ssachusetts who had been complaining of back pain. he had said he was walking with a hunchback, couldn’t stand up straight. he told this to the pastor right before service started and asked him to pray for him. mark heard him and prayed for him. he later said: “i instantly felt the weight roll off my shoulders, like a heavy bag that i just dropped.”
peter johnson stood upright right when he said amen! and the crowd reacted in that way. he then showed what appeared to be a healed man. the crowd was thrilled to see another miracle. they started singing hallelujah and clapping. some were thanking god
some other members of the congregation where crying. praying for more miracles. “we want more lord!”
“peter johnson that was a demon that was posessing you. the holy spirir revealed to me the shape of ths demon: it had dark scabbed wings, but heavy looking, sitting on your shoulder for you to feel pain. it said it came into you when you prayed to an idol named shebbenot a statue with a stone heart in its hand made of marble. there was working being done against you. they offered in an unmarked grave the idol statue with pigeon blood. that voodoo witchcraft doesn’t have power against jesus do you understand? there is no great enough power. who else wants to be saved like peter johnson tonight?”
the crowd shouted with joy, singing songs of praise. clark loved the movement. it was unlike anything he had ever seen
