i’m pep, i’m an artist, musician and songwriter based out of new york

my journey into music started at a very young age. i was brought up in the church with my mother as the bishop, my sister leading the choir, while i was in charge of the music ministry. that’s where i learned how to play the keyboard. in junior high school i joined the school music band and learned how to play drums. in high*school i taught myself how to play guitar by watching youtube. all 3 instruments i play strictly by ear and i’m self taught. but i didn’t start writing music until 2012 when i was incarcerated. when i came home 2013 i had written enough songs to make my first mixtape “pep rally” and i relеased it on soundcloud and youtube. so being a prеachers kid really showed me my passion and love for music

my artist name p.e.p is actually an acronym for my full name prezidor ezemweghian porbeni, which is nigerian by origin and which happens to be my initials. pep means good energy and high spirits

my goal is to be known all over the world for my music and have countless hits! to become a household name in the music industry. my name is already unique, i play 3 instruments, i write all my own songs, i rap/sing/dj and produce. music is my passion and ive been bless with the gifts and talent to become the next biggest star in music

well i’m definitely inspired by drake, kanye west, tory lanez and big sean. all these superstars are extremely lyrical and multifaceted musically. i make melodic hip hop and trap music and i also do afrobeats/reggae and rnb. i’m an eclectic artist and these artists have greatly influenced my sound with their ability to make different styles of music in different genres while maintaining true lyricism. i was raised and grew up in bronx, ny the birth place and mecca of hip hop, so thats always relevant in my style and lyrics. being from new york has greatly impacted the way i create music and helped me discover my sound

well several things make me a different type of artist. firstly i was born in nigeria so i have that afrobeat sound in my blood that i can easily display on demand totally transforming my sound completely. i play drums, piano and guitar all by ear and i’m self taught. i write all my own songs, i listen to the beat get a melody and write the entire track from scratch. my music is lyrical not mumble rap, i use a lot of metaphors, allegory double and triple entendres to make every line a punchline. i’m also a fashion designer and founder of 3qbd clothing so my style is handpicked and original. unlike other artists i’ve never smoked, drank alcohol or done any drugz in my life and im 34 years old so i’m pretty proud of that

i love the whole creative process that goes into making music. music is pure art and when i create i feel like a movie director or producer that’s making this piece of art come to life. i love the challenges that comes with every new song i make. trying different styles, flows, melodies, cadences and beats. always challenging myself to do something different and get out of my comfort zone. then when you finally create music that people love and can relate to, music that the fans just vibe with organically, that’s the ultimate reward and that’s what i truly love about creating music. on the flip*side i hate it when you have an idea for a song but can’t seem to bring that idea into fruition. or you hear the song/melody in your head and when you finish the song it doesn’t come out how you envisioned it. this can be very frustrating and discouraging for most artists

i recently released money on me it’s the 3rd song i’ve released so far in 2023. this track is a total different vibe for me. it’s my first afrobeat/reggae record. it’s a feel good vibe about having money, flashy jewelry, high fashion clothes, drinks and girls all over you. the beat instantly draws you in with the tempo and synths melody. the hook is very simple and catchy so it’s easily repeated and memorable. so far it’s received a lot of great reviews almost 20k streams on spotify and counting. definitely 1 of my most fun records yet. hope you guys enjoy!
