the art executive direction for mason giano’s long live mason was in the charge of cotemporary photographer austin junior of mystique visuals holdings. austin played a significant role in bringing mason’s vision into realization. mason explained the concept of the artwork below:
>the cover is based on an assumption of things unsaid and undone. the music, in its original composition, glues faith and anxiety together in a way that would otherwise suggest a disconnect in character and personality. therе are two definitive еmotions to the music and visual media; one of the arts show a very distressed mason, sunk into the chair with a hand on his face, it’s almost as if the entire world rests on his shoulders, and maybe it does. another shows a more calculative mason, a clever cue of reassurance and confidence can be clearly seen on the posture of his body; hands mingled in front of his face in a contemplative spirit, the concept of a more experienced and battled*hardened mason giano—yet these two artworks share one common denominator; mystery and ominosity. of course, the latter art would seem to be the perfect fit for the mixtape, but because of the depth of the songwriting and the complexity of composition, the first art communicated deeper emotion and ended up making the cut for the front cover
