they’d want us to coexist
not destroy all of the trees

and dont even get me started about mother nature
or how she feels when she sees the latest deer
being mounted in the home of a so called hunter
when the deer never stood a chance it’s so unfair
and after the deer is gone
their family mourning
a lumber company
comes in the morning
sound of chains whir to life
the family of deers are snoring
then that hear the sound like a thousand knives
tearing through any semblance of their lives
so they run for the hills
the mother telling them not to look back
then they hear a crack
ing sound as they get hit with flack
of the tree that fell on top of their mother
they had already lost so much
they didn’t want to lose another
so one of the children runs back
and then they are stopped in their tracks
by a group of men in masks
wielding these heavy unfamiliar weapons
looks like a knife mixed with guns
that destroyed their home
feeling so alone
and scared for their life
they turned around
and save their hide
but inside they drowned
with anguish
but they had one another
one sister one brother
they wandered around for weeks
and they started to feel weak
thinking this was the end
that is where they found a friend
a human who lived in the woods
at first they didn’t trust them
until they bandaged up their wounds
a friendship started to stem
what they didn’t realize
until it was before their eyes
this human helped farm deers
soon they found peers
who accepted them as their own
the two deers had found a home
so whether its something simple
like save an animal
who is struggling
or pick up some plastic
when you see it floating
in the ocean
because we all got a home
i think wed all like it better
to be left alone
