“uh, what is orgone?”
“well orgone energy is what the indians called prana
and what the j*panese and chinese called chi
it’s kind of ghost juice, this stuff that flows that you can’t see
that if we let it flow through us, we’ll be so much better”
“like, it was something that willhelm reich came up with?”
“willhelm reich came up with an idea which he felt would lead to, uh, s*xual liberation
which is a very, very touchy subject to be putting forth in the 1950’s
and he was basically hounded to death by the united states government and died in prison”
“for writing about orgone?”
“uh, well basically for his outspoken attitudes about s*x
i think had a lot do with it”
“did he invent orgone boxes?”
“yeah, that was an idea, uh it was a box like a sweatshop
you sit down and it goes around you, the hole for your head to come out
and uh, it’s alternating wood and metal and some others
uh, a bucket of water with a tube going into the thing
i don’t understand that part, uh it was supposed to accumulate
these good vibrations, alternate energy chi on a ghost juice that um flows through you
and it’s immunity booster and energiser and generally
just make you feel tip top, supposed to make you feel tip top”
“you ha* you knew somebody who had one? or you were in one, or near one?”
“a girlfriend had one and uh, i’m kicking myself, i never
i meant to take it for a spin, like will i feel anything whatsoever?
and who knows? you know, i’ll never know because i never tried it
like the fool that i was, a young fool, i let my chances pass by, i”
“how* was it something that you would build yourself?
or could people actually buy an orgone box?”
“there are probably kits, good question, i have no idea
i’m assuming that there were ready mades and there were kits
huh, like everything else: the ikea orgone box!”
“so you’d get other people’s chi that had been accumulated in there? and then you would absorb that?”
“well it accumulated chi from the world at large
and concentrated it in its little boxy, this little orgone boxy, this*“
“did you plug it in? did it have batteries?”
“no, no, it’s super super *n*log, no it’s freestanding”
“it’s kind of like a dowsing rod for ghost juice.”
“so you would sit in it and absorb other people’s orgones?”
“how’s that work?”
“no not other people’s, i mean the orgone energy
it’s out there like sunlight, like you don’t take other people’s sunlight
it just um, force that exists in the universe according to some points of view
points of view, some claim it’s a hoax”
“i figured it was something like that.”
“how many people did you know that were into this sort of thing? was it a popular thing, the orgone box or just the study or orgones?”
“i just knew a couple of people and one of ‘em was a real assh0l*
um according to reichian theory, you’re supposed to give
an ecstatic cry out when you’re having an *rg*sm, you know
you’re supposed to not be afraid of vocalising, you know
the joyous power, or something like that, so this guy
whenever he would cum, he was a roommate
he’d make this sound that sounded like, like
a blackhole asking for a hemlock, just this bleak, horrible
choked, ugly sound and he would replicate it perfectly
every d*mned time like his, this is my loose expression
of the energy flowing through me and there’s this
constipated sonic, you know, t*rd which is like creepy to listen to, ha.”
“can you, can you replicate what it kind of sounded like?”
