that boy was gideon of manasseh from judges chapter 6*8 i don’t know if you’ve read the bible but that’s where it’s from

and from there you can get that making comparisons has been a problem since bc and it’s a little hard to be honest when when i’m trying to get advice everybody will just tell me to just be me

when more than enough times i’ve wished for more, prayed for more to do
they say when jesus comes he will say to some people who claim him “get out for i did not know you.”

and putting myself on the same stage as people like billy graham and t.d jakes can really make me feel like i’ve made a lot of mistakes. now that’s a lot smaller
and that is called atelophobia. the fear of not being enough. j cole once said “ain’t no such thing as a life that’s better than yours”
which can make you feel better
but when you feel like you have to live to a certain standard it’s very easy to feel the pressure

like somebody is living better than you. like somebody is more worthy of everything than you. they say god doesn’t call the qualified, he qualifies the called but in modern society it’s normalised to feel like you have to qualify to be qualified to be called because now it’s like everybody’s trying to scramble to a safe height in a hierarchy of understanding where the top goes to heaven and the bottom to h*ll so it happens that even when you’re handing help the truth is it’s selfish

but you know what the bible says?
romans 2:11 for god shows no favoritism
that means god shows no racism, anti*semitism, s*xism, age isn’t a factor in this
god loves you just as much as everybody else and he wants a relationship not a religion let me tell you the difference

a relationship is more intimate while a religion is distant
ever heard “god wants to be in your heart?” a relationship is everyday while a religion is some days like sat*rdays and sundays when the rest of the week you’re apart

and you know the thing about personal relationships?
they’re personal
be smart it’s like one with your spouse
why would you compare yourself to somebody else when it’s ideally you two that said the vows

you are his favourite

stop looking at somebody else and thinking well they do more, god must love them more
cause that isn’t what christ died for
christ died to show us he loves us all
and that’s no matter what you’ve done, big or small
it’s never been a doing issue
billy graham once said
the moment you receive christ you become a partaker of god’s own life
i say yes but please don’t let yourself making comparisons make you lose sight of the big idea of god’s love

being in christ you and i are going to live a billion years
and we’ll only have just begun

jesus said that the invitation to work in his vineyard is always open and no matter when you come, no matter the time in the day whether it’s early or late
all jesus’ workers receive an equal pay

you can say that isn’t fair but that’s because you’re seeing with the world’s eyes
you have to realise that
the world says you have to do, you have to earn it
but won’t you realise that this isn’t another capitalist system. you all get a free gift of a life away from pain as long as you show your face at his vineyard gates because jesus already earned it for your sake
jesus’ disciples once asked him “who then can be saved”
jesus said: with man it is impossible

but with god, all things are possible

the bible says you are saved by faith and not by works lest any man should boast

knowing that it isn’t about how much you do for you to be saved, know that you don’t have to compare yourself to anybody anymore

you are his favourite
go ahead and build your personal relationship

because from now on, you don’t have to feel like less than anybody ever again

part of james 4:8 says “draw near to god and he will draw near to you”

maybe you didn’t realise how much your atelophobia was getting in the way but if you forget everything i said before, remember
