i remember ramen noodles, they seemed gourmet
and i remember wanting mcdonalds every single day
remember being happy from a meal?
i remember when i didn’t know what reminisce meant
remember the lessons my momma taught me in the 90’s

shopping with mommy at the gap and hilfiger
cause it had my name on it
ate all my collards so i could grow bigger
i had my mind set, and it was fame on it
i wanted to be just like my dad
when i got made fun of in cl-ss could i couldn’t say my ‘l’s
i would get so mad

i remember when we had all the confidence to openly speak about all of our plans
when you could say what you wanted to be and no one judged you for it d-mn
